Mapping Out Ideas

I’m shooting a wedding this weekend.

Note:  I’m not a photographer, nor do I have any aspirations of being one.

Yeah, I’m kind of freaking out about it.  Not really sure how I got talked into it, but I did.  That’s a lie, I know how, I figure it’s a life experience I would never get otherwise so yeah, sure, I’ll do it.  Freaking out now as my ‘photography’ (if you want to call it that) is very much situational where a missed shot doesn’t mean a lifetime of saying to your friends “This was almost our wedding kiss.”

Almost.  Horseshoes and hand grenades.

In the end I think (hope) it’ll be like any other pressure situation and when it’s game time I’ll take a deep breath and just go into that weird unthinking/instinctual/Matrix-esque zone and do work, but until then I’ll enjoy the pre-game jitters.

  1. Pro Tip: Remove the lens cap.

    1. I can seriously see myself doing something stupid like that! Well, maybe not the lens cap as I wouldn’t see anything thru the viewfinder, but I could CERTAINLY see myself forgetting a battery or something. We’ll see….
